Everyone is invited to bring a picnic and enjoy Lunch on the Lawns on Friday 20 December from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Come and spend a Friday afternoon enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the Government House gardens, overlooking Hobart’s CBD and waterfront.

A guided tour of the Government House State Rooms will allow you to experience the grandeur of this Victorian country house constructed in neo-Gothic style. Fine silverware, crystal chandeliers, heritage European and early colonial and imported furniture and amazing art works are just some of the attractions of this tour.

Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen
Her Excellency the Governor joins all Tasmanians to congratulate King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark on their accession to the Throne following the abdication of Queen Margrethe II.
Books are available at Government House for those who would like to leave a congratulatory message. Between 8 am and 4 pm daily from Monday 15 to Friday 19 January, access will be facilitated by the Government House Security Team to individuals who identify themselves using the intercom at the main gate.
